Move Out Dates: If you are not graduating, you must move out of your residence hall after by Saturday, May 4, 2024, at noon (unless you have signed up and paid for summer housing at that time.) If you are graduating this Spring, congratulations! Since graduation falls on Tuesday, May 7, you have until Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at noon to move out of your residence hall.

  • Campus Suds: This summer, rather than lugging all your belongings home, Campus Suds offers a hassle-free storage solution. With our convenient service, you won't need to worry about packing up storage bins, TVs, mini-fridges, or bedding. We provide everything you need, from boxes to packing tape and bubble wrap. Our team will collect your items right from campus and transport them to our state-of-the-art, climate-controlled facility equipped with security cameras, ensuring the safety of your belongings throughout the summer. Student Residency Requirement
As a residential institution, Lynn University expects students who have completed less than 60 credit hours to live and board within the University residential system. Undergraduate day students with over 60 earned credit hours may request to live in housing owned or controlled by the University, however; assignment is based on space availability, which is not guaranteed. All other degree-seeking students may request to live in housing owned or controlled by the University however, the assignment is based on space availability, which is not guaranteed and will be given consideration only after the undergraduate day student population has been accommodated.

How can I request maintenance or repairs for my room? If you have any maintenance or repair issues in your room, please submit a maintenance request through the Maintenance Work Order on myLynn. Our Campus Operations team will promptly address your concerns and schedule any necessary repairs.

Am I able to leave my items in my room during Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring break? Yes! Not only can you leave your items, but the halls remain open during both Thanksgiving and Spring break and students are able to stay with no additional application or fees. For Winter break, you may leave your belongings if you are returning in Spring, but please clean your room, unplug all items (excluding the refrigerator), and other housing protocols shared by your RA during your end-of-semester floor meeting prior to leaving.

Are there any rules or guidelines I should be aware of when living on campus? Yes, specific rules and guidelines are in place to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment for all students. All residential students agree to abide by the Student Code of Conduct and are held responsible for all policies when signing their housing application. The Housing and residence life regulations outline expectations regarding noise, guests, cleanliness, and other relevant residence hall policies. We recommend familiarizing yourself with these guidelines to maintain a positive housing experience. 

Are there laundry facilities available in the residence halls? If so, how do I use them? Yes, every residence halls have laundry facilities conveniently located in the building. You will utilize the CSCPay Mobile Coinless Laundry App to pay, check what machines are open, and even get notifications when your laundry is finished! Tired of sorting your lights and darks? Where do we park and how do I register my car? All students, staff, and faculty who have a car or motorcycle on campus must register their vehicle and obtain a parking permit (decal) with Campus Safety. Students may park in lots D,E, H, I, J, K, M on the Campus Map.

Our Mission
The mission of the Office of Housing and Residence Life is to create a home away from home where everyone belongs. We are dedicated to promoting a safe and positive learning environment in which healthy relationships are formed, individual differences are appreciated and residents are encouraged to take an active role in their community and education.

 

Who makes up the Housing and Residence Life staff?

  • Resident Assistants: A resident assistant (RA) is a student staff member working and living in a residence hall. Resident assistants provide support, guidance, and assistance for resident students.
  • Senior Resident Assistants: Senior RAs are student staff members living, working, and mentoring RAs in the residence halls. SRAs are there to lead the staff team in resident programming and community development and provide additional support and care to residents. SRAs also provide support, guidance, and assistance for resident students
  • Area Coordinators: An area coordinator (AC) is a professional staff member who oversees a portion of campus staff and residents. The AC lives and works in the residence halls and is there for critical issue response, and resident follow-up, and sets the standards for establishing a positive community on campus.
  • Director and Associate Directors: The Director of Housing and Residence Life and Associate Directors are full-time professionals who serve as the chief administrators for the supervision, management, and personal and community development of on-campus students at Lynn University.

Residential students living in residence halls are required to have a meal plan, which is automatically added to pricing options. Meal plans are not included for students living in Capstone Apartments. Students can purchase a meal plan separately.

Housing and Residence Life regulations outline expectations for students residing in University housing and residence halls. In addition to the student code of conduct, the following regulations apply to all students residing in Housing owned or controlled by the University.

The Resident Assistant (RA) is a student staff member within Housing and Residence Life at Lynn University. The most important component of the position for Resident Assistants is to spend time getting to know each of the residents that live in their assigned community and promote individual and group development through the implementation of programs and purposeful interactions. The Resident Assistant is expected to cultivate a sense of community and an environment of purpose, respect, and discipline. Read the full job description here

RAs are expected to serve as role models on campus, exhibit the ability to be effective listeners and excellent resources and show ethical behavior at all times. The nature of the live-in position often requires work outside of traditional business hours, including weekends and university academic breaks. The RA position requires both regularly scheduled responsibilities and times at which student staff are available and accessible to community residents.
