FSA ID/PIN Replacement

Attention FAFSA filers:  The Federal Student Aid PIN is being replaced by a FSA ID which comprises of a user-selected username and password.  This number was necessary for you to authenticate your identity to access your federal student aid information.  When you go back to the site, you will see a message directing you to a link to register for your new FSA ID.  The registration process should take less than 7 minutes.  You MUST do this or you will not be able to access your information.

This FSA ID will also be needed when completing other items such as Direct Loans Entrance Counseling or Direct Loan Master Promissory Notes.  Parents will also have to do their own FSA ID numbers to complete a FAFSA or apply for the Direct PLUS loan.  The federal government encourages only the owner of the FSA ID should create his or her own account.
