Lynn honors veterans at an annual ceremony/BBQ

Lynn’s annual Veterans Day Celebration is Nov. 11, and will include a special veterans' recognition ceremony at 11:30 a.m. in Perper Plaza, followed by the Red, White and Blue Barbecue in the Elmore Dining Commons. If you are a veteran and are able to attend, contact Jessica Lawrence so you may be properly recognized.

Speaking of veterans:  Lynn students and Marine veterans Angel Cancel, Brock Frazier and Omar Gonzalez and the Knights of the Roundtable (KOR) are spearheading the first annual Toy Drive Contest on campus on behalf of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program.

The contest runs for five weeks (until Dec. 5) during which the students, faculty, and staff at Lynn are invited to compete to see just who really is in the holiday spirit. They are looking for 100% participation—a feat that is unprecedented, yet still achievable. Donation sites will be placed around campus at various locations.

Collection boxes have been set up in the following areas on campus: residence halls, library, College of Education, Assaf and Center for Student Involvement (CSI in the Student Center. Toys should be in original packages (as advertised on store shelves) and should not be gift wrapped.

Toys collected will be distributed as gifts this holiday season to less fortunate children between the ages of 2 and 12 in Boca Raton and surrounding communities in Palm Beach County.
