Events planned for National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week

In conjunction with more than 1,000 other colleges and universities across the nation, Lynn University is recognizing National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week (NCAAW) with four days of on-campus events.

Lynn NCAAW events include:

• Monday, Oct. 14
Date rape drug awareness event - at 12 p.m. in the Student Center. Students in Lynn’s Black Student Union will demonstrate how the date rape drug is used and the dangers associated with it
Speaker: Actress Jennifer Gimenez (appeared in Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Sober House and Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew) – at 7 p.m. in the Green Center

• Tuesday, Oct. 15
Alcohol and Relationships – at 3 p.m. in the Green Center

• Wednesday, Oct. 16
Texting, drinking and driving - at 11:30 a.m. in the Perper Plaza. Students will sign pledges to not drink and drive and to not text and drive.
Drug Combos: How Much is Too Much? – at 6:30 p.m.; sponsored by NOPE and in collaboration with the psychology faculty

• Thursday, Oct. 17
Mocktails, Movement and Music - at 3 p.m. at the pool. Students in the Law and Justice Club will conduct alcohol measurement demonstrations, give away individualized blood alcohol concentration cards and serve mocktails.
