Do not tamper with ADA-compliant doors

During the last several weeks, the Office of Auxiliary Services has been inundated with work orders to repair the ADA-compliant door openers throughout campus. In nearly every case, staff from Mechanical Services has found that the button on the top of the door that controls the open/close motor unit has been deactivated; and when deactivated the door will simply not work properly.
No one other than facilities personnel should be tampering with any part of these door controls. If you find a door not working properly, please call facilities to rectify the problem. Do not try to fix the problem yourself. Your cooperation is appreciated.  If you see someone tampering with the unit, notify security.
