Lynn Library celebrates Black History Month

In honor of Black History, Month, the library is hosting, “Explaining Emancipation and Its Legacies with Dr. Robert Watson,” Wednesday, Feb. 1, 1:30 p.m. on the second floor landing.

The end of slavery in the United States is the most important turning point in American history. Learn about the political and social history of the Emancipation Proclamation and the U.S. Civil War with American Studies professor Dr. Robert Watson.

Also, check out the two exhibits on the library’s first and second floors “A Place for All People,” a Smithsonian poster exhibit, and “Emancipation and its Legacies” through Feb. 1.
