Changes coming to campus parking and traffic flow

This summer, Campus Safety and Auxiliary Services teamed up to install a simpler, more adaptable campus parking program with a more efficient and controlled entryway traffic flow. This includes the installation of gate arms at two entrances, new parking stickers and new parking lot names and signage. Here is what you can expect:

New gate arms
By the start of the fall semester, new gate arms will be activated at two Lynn University entrances (Military Trail and the West Potomac). These arms will grant access to vehicles that display the new Lynn parking sticker. The installation will help increase safety measures by allowing Campus Safety officers to concentrate on guests entering campus instead of checking cars for valid stickers. For example, vehicles with stickers will be encouraged to use the right lanes, whereas visitors will use the left. Please note this change does not impact the East Potomac entrance.

Parking stickers
The new gate arms are activated by a bar code imprinted on the new parking sticker. Details on how to obtain your new sticker will be forthcoming.  Stickers will be issued as follows:
• Employees (includes admission guests and VIPs/trustees): black bar codes
• All students: Blue bar codes
Stickers must be visibly displayed in the outside, bottom, rear driver's side window at all times. The sticker must be installed vertically in order for the gate arm to read the bar code and open.

Parking lot names and signage
Parking lots are now identified by letter. This designation ensures that our parking program can be maintained easily as our campus continues to evolve. Each parking lot sign is either blue and white or black and white. Vehicles with blue bar code stickers may park only in blue lots, and vehicles with black bar code stickers may park only in black and white lots.
• Black and white (employee) lots: A, B, C, E, G, H and L
• Blue (student) lots: H, I J, K and M
Special lots: D – short-term parking and mail pick up; F- handicap
