Pet policy reminder

Though we all love the comfort and companionship of our pets, please note that Lynn does not allow pets on campus. There are two exceptions to the rule:

Emotional support animals are allowed. They must be approved by the ADA coordinator, who makes a determination based upon medical documentation that shows a need for the animal for the purposes of helping a related diagnosis. If a student claims he or she has an emotional support animal, but has not gotten it approved he or she is in violation of the Code of Conduct. These animals are only allowed in the student’s residential hall room and in outdoor areas.

Service animals are allowed. While they do not have to be registered with the ADA coordinator, there is a voluntary registry process. Service animals are trained specifically to do a task that assists with a person’s diagnosed medical disability. Unlike emotional support animals, they are allowed anywhere on campus as long as they are under the control of their owner.
