Robert Watson, professor of American Studies in the College of Arts & Sciences,  has been asked to serve as the political analyst for WIOD 610 AM, Miami’s news and talk radio station. Watson served as the station’s analyst from 2004-2008. He will also be a regular guest on the morning drive show with Jimmy Cefelo.

• Tsunami, the book Watson co-authored with his son, Alex, was announced as a finalist/runner-up for the International Book Award in “young adult fiction.”
• He recently taped a one-hour program for Book TV on his new book America’s First Crisis and was the guest for a one-hour special on Presidents Day on the C-SPAN show Washington Journal.
• His new book, America’s First Crisis, was just nominated for several military history book awards, including the Army Historical Foundation Book Award, the Fraunces Tavery Museum Book Award, The National Council on Public History Book Award, and the American Historical Association Book Award.
