Bailey-Michelle Collins and Nicole Cortero, freshmen piano students in the Conservatory of Music, won first and second prizes respectively at the Florida State Music Teachers Association (FSMTA) Gray Perry Young Collegiate Piano Award Competition at University of Florida in Gainesville. This competition is open to freshmen and sophomore piano majors studying at Florida colleges and universities and includes cash prizes. This is the second year in a row that a Lynn pianist captured the first prize. Both Collins and Cortero are members of the studio of Roberta Rust.
