Robert Watson, professor of American Studies in the College of Liberal Education, published the chapter “Cold Warrior and Civil Libertarian: Truman’s Attempt to Manage the ‘Second Red Scare’” in the new book Civil Liberties and the Legacy of Harry S. Truman. He also served as a judge for the “Florida History Day” contest in February, completed a series of talks on his new book Affairs of State for libraries throughout south Florida, and consulted with state political leaders about reforming Florida’s election system.
