Priscilla Boerger, assistant professor in the Ross College of Education, was an invited panel member at a forum at Palm Beach State College on Nov. 27. Along with representation from Lynn University, the panel included individuals from the Palm Beach County School District, FAU and PBSC, as well as a retired principal from Palm Beach County. The topic of discussion was “Why Be a Teacher?”  The panelists provided undergraduate students with information that would help them during interviews for teaching positions and as they get into their own classrooms as beginning teachers.  Common core standards, Marzano Evaluation Model, merit pay and tomorrow’s classroom were all discussed. Two PBSC College of Education seniors who founded a chapter of Florida Educator Association (FEA) were the moderators.
