Lynn University will officially break ground on the Bobby Campbell Stadium, which will be home to its national championship soccer teams and a new lacrosse program, at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13. The groundbreaking ceremony will take place on the grounds of the stadium-to-be (near the Intramural Field), at which time renderings of the stadium will be unveiled.
With shovels in tow, many of the donors who have contributed to the project are expected to be in attendance and participate in a ceremonial groundbreaking dubbed the “golden shovel ceremony,” including Robert (“Bobby”) Campbell, the lead donor who provided $1.2 million for the construction of the stadium.
The new stadium, designed by the Gensler architectural firm, will be a lighted facility which will include covered stands with a plaza area and seating for 500 spectators.
