Lynn will host its Sixth Annual Family Fun Day on Saturday, Jan. 26, in recognition of the NCAA Division II Community Engagement initiative. This year the festivities begin at 10 a.m. and will include the Mini Knights Challenge, inflatable and interactive games, meet and autograph session with Lynn student-athletes, bingo and free admission to the Fighting Knights men’s and women’s basketball games against Nova Southeastern. The event is free and open to the entire public.
A new addition to this year’s Family Fun Day is the Mini Knights Challenge, an obstacle adventure race designed for kids 4-12. The first 300 kids to finish the course will receive a T-shirt and medal.
Returning to the campus will be face painting, pictures with Big LU, basketball, tennis and sand volleyball open play and a men’s/women’s soccer clinic with the Lynn University coaching staff. Also back by popular demand is the Food Truck Frenzy, featuring local food trucks with great food available for purchase.
The Lynn University Family Fun Day was created in response to the NCAA Division II community engagement initiative. Dr. Rich Luker formulated the idea based on statistics showing that the United States is approximately a 78 percent service driven economy and there is no longer an economically derived reason for institutions or organizations to get together socially. The goal of this event, and the initiative, is to provide a place for the community to get together and have a good time.
